The CSMeter instrument was developed based on advanced current signature analysis (CSA) algorithms developed by Professor Bill Thomson of EM Diagnostics in Scotland (one of the renowned pioneers in the CSA field). It is used to detect rotor eccentricity and broken rotor bars in asynchronous motors. CSMeter instrument offers the following benefits:

  • Identify the root cause of several mechanical problems, before they cause extensive damage or even lead to failure.
  • On-the-spot diagnosis indicates problem severity in plain English and/or simple graphics.
  • No need for extensive and expensive training...just read the manuals! Simple, self-contained system:
    • No laptop required in the field
    • No complicated accessories: uses just one clamp-on current probe
    • No speed input required for testing
  • Weather and shock-resistant enclosure for industrial environments.
  • A long-life battery allows for up to eight hours without being tethered to a power source (will also operate on 110-240 VAC).
  • Stores 29 different motor evaluations at a time.
  • Can distinguish between mechanically induced sidebands caused by gear reducers, and legitimate rotor bar problems.
CSMeter is a must-have tool for any condition-based motor maintenance program.
